Manmohan
Singh was born on September 26, 1932 in west Punjab which is now in Punjab in India.
His father was gurumukh Singh and mother is Amrit kaur. He was married to
Gursharan Kaur in 1958. he did his B.A. in economic in Punjab
university in1952 and stood first in M.A. economics from the same university,
in 1954.
After occupying several post he was appointed
as the governor of Reserve Bank of India in 1982 and then the deputy chairman
of the planning commission in 1985. It was in 1991 when he was made finance
minister in the Rao government. He starts the economic reforms to save the
crumbling economy in India.
Since then he remained a member of Rajya Sabha and now after the refusal of
Mrs. Sonia Gandhi as the Prime Minister Ship destiny favored him.
Dr. Singh is a man of integrity and
intellect. He enjoys the backing of Mrs. Gandhi and totally believed by the
nation. His image as a sober and honest person is well known. And because of
his honest image he is also known as Dr. honest.
His records on various post is spot less. He
is the idol of simplicity and believes in value system. Seeing his previous
records, the country has welcomed him with an open arm. We hope he will do
great things for our country. He was hand picked by Mrs. Gandhi. He is the man
in congress who Mrs. Gandhi believes much. He is a man of low profile. I like
him much. He is my favorite model.
